One of the biggest complaints I’ve heard about makeup is, “Ughhhh, by the end of the day, half my makeup has rubbed off.”
You’re not crazy, ladies. The fear is and should be real. Makeup is not made to withstand 24 hours of use. Your face is exposed to wind, air pollution, tears, sweat, and much, much more throughout the day! It’s not makeup’s fault that it sometimes can’t keep up with that stiff competition.
The biggest savior I’ve found in keeping my eyeshadow smudge-free throughout my day is the ever coveted EYE PRIMER. Apply primer to your eyelid before eyeshadow, and be pleasantly surprised by how long your look stays put. I personally prefer tinted creams as my eye primer, because they make your eye shadow colors POP and look 200% more pigmented. Plus, they still look gorgeous used solo on your eyelids. Perfect for those days you’re running uber late.
Here are some of my faves (the the pink ribbon of excellence going to my ride-or-die, Maybelline Color Tattoo):
- Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Eyeshadow: too cool, bad to the bronze, tough as taupe
- Urban Decay Shadow Primer Potion
- Bare Minerals Prime Time Brightening Eyelid Primer: pearl
- Stila Smudge Pot: kitten
